Prevention is better than cure but cure is sometimes necessary

At MLP, we understand that clients require contractual risk to be properly allocated on a construction and engineering project. It is therefore important that proper consideration is given to the terms upon which clients enter into projects. Prevention is better than cure. However, we understand that disputes do arise on projects and are able to work with clients to achieve satisfactory outcomes to resolve issues.

Members of our team have advised public and private sector employers, contractors, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers, bondsmen, funders, investors, purchasers/tenants and insurance companies on construction and engineering issues. We have extensive experience in non-contentious construction and engineering matters and are vastly experienced in contentious construction and engineering matters.

The Legal 500 has stated that our Paul Donnelly has “excellent knowledge of construction contracts and disputes” and has referred to his stellar reputation. Chambers has stated that his ability to quickly understand and identify the key issues of a very complex dispute and to apply a practical approach to forecast likely resolution “goes down very well with clients”.

“The benefit of MLP ‘Flex’ is all in the name. It’s great because it enables me to rollover costs and manage cash flow. MLP respect the fact there are busier times and look at your legal requirements over a 12 month period to determine your requirements.”

“Since working with MLP, they have helped us with a range of HR issues; from straightforward HR queries to major HR projects and employment issues. The Lawyers at MLP use straightforward English rather than legal jargon, they are down to earth, and we don’t face bureaucracy to get to speak to the right person.”
