Paralegal - Wills, Trusts and Probate
Abby became a Paralegal in the Employment team after gaining experience at a large employment law and HR company after graduating from university. In her role at MLP she also helps both the litigation and construction teams. Abby is currently working in the Wills, Trusts and Probate team.
Abby attended the University of Manchester and graduated with a degree in Law (LLB: Hons). While at university, she enjoyed a lot of the extracurricular activities on offer, including being treasurer of the Student Union’s ‘Access All Areas’ society, which aims to widen participation in university education in demographics which are currently underrepresented. Before university Abby took part in the government-run ‘International Citizens Service’ which sends groups of young adults to developing nations to work with communities on projects that the local community find valuable. As part of this Abby lived in a remote village in El Salvador for three months, and as a result has a keen interest in learning about the politics and histories of countries which aren’t necessarily on the standard school curriculum.
The particular aspects of working in the legal sector Abby enjoys are interacting with clients and getting to grips with complicated legal concepts. It is for these reasons that she hopes to eventually become a solicitor at MLP.
When Abby isn’t enjoying her latest book on the way to the office, or working hard when she arrives at work, she loves going to the cinema (she is currently attempting to watch all of the films nominated for ‘best picture’ at the Oscars) and enjoying Manchester’s vibrant restaurant and bar scene with her friends and family.
