Associate - Employment and Head of Business Immigration
I am an Associate Solicitor specialising in employment and immigration law. I primarily advise employers on how to become sponsors in order to employ individuals from outside the UK/EEA and how to comply with sponsor obligations. I also advise employers on how to carry out right to work checks and ensure compliance with the latest guidance. I advise individuals on Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 4 and Tier 5 visas as well as dependent visas, switching and extending visas, and applications for indefinite leave to remain. I regularly advise international students from local universities about their options to remain in the UK in advance of the expiry of their Tier 4 visa.
I also advise employers on a range of employment issues including disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy, maternity, paternity and other family friendly rights, discrimination, TUPE, flexible working and long term sickness issues. I provide clients with a range of training including general employment law overviews, equal opportunities training, the bribery act and data protection. I assist clients in defending a full range of Employment Tribunal claims and have experience in advocacy at Employment Tribunal hearings and preliminary hearings. I also advise individuals in relation to disputes at work and settlement agreements.
