Karen has been advising since 1998 on HR/employment law matters. Her baptism of fire started with the introduction of the Working Time Regulations 1998 which have haunted her ever since!
Karen is a specialist employment lawyer and widely experienced in acting on behalf of SME and larger employers including PLC’s. Her experience includes advising on all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious HR/employment law issues. This includes the full spectrum of HR for example TUPE, redundancies, trade union disputes, employee relations issues including discrimination and also dealing with a number of HMRC investigations into allegations of failure to pay National Minimum Wage.
Karen has particular experience in retail and hospitality sectors including well-known hotel chains and retailers. Her clients describe her as a down to earth lawyer who gives clear and practical, commercial advice. Karen understands the business requirements to deal with HR/employment issues swiftly, commercially and in line with the company objectives and values. She is proactive in her advice to clients and regularly attends Board Meetings to consider employment law alongside their business strategic plans.
Karen also runs group of local HR professionals who meet monthly to discuss a variety of HR related issues from inspiring your leaders to handling mental health issues within the workplace.

Karen doesn’t have spare time as it is taken up with her two young daughters. She does enjoy reading, travelling, going to the theatre and spending time in Anglesey.
