Partner - Wills, Trusts and Probate
Kerry is an Partner in the Wills, Trusts and Probate Department specialising in contentious and non-contentious private client work particularly relating to the Court of Protection. Kerry qualified as a solicitor in 1999.
She advises on issues affecting disabled, vulnerable and elderly clients including Court of Protection applications, advising and acting as attorney and deputy, LPA’s, advance decisions, care home funding and services, adult safeguarding and community care disputes.
Kerry also has a particular interest in issues relating to those who require residential or nursing home accommodation especially relating to care fee and estate planning and the availability of funding from the Local Authority and NHS. She also advises Care Home owners and managers on their regulatory and legal responsibilities, and regularly provides talks and seminars to care providers and carers.
In addition Kerry undertakes estate administration work, and also deals with estates with a contentious element involving challenges to the validity of a will and also claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
Kerry is a full member of Solicitors for the Elderly and the Court of Protection Practitioners Association, and is currently appointed as Care Navigator and Advisor for Age UK Trafford.
Outside of work Kerry is a Director of Trafford Healthwatch, a Trustee of Trafford Carers Centre and a Trustee for Emmaus South Manchester (a charity addressing issues of homelessness and social exclusion) as well as being mum to two very active children.
