Wills, Trusts and Probate Associate
Certificates: Solicitor, qualified in 1999
I am a solicitor specialising in contentious and non-contentious private client work particularly relating to the Court of Protection.
I advise on a number of issues particularly affecting disabled, vulnerable and elderly clients including Court of Protection applications, advising and acting as attorney and deputy, LPA’s, advance decisions, care home funding and services, adult safeguarding and community care disputes.
I also have a particular interest in issues relating to those who require residential or nursing home accommodation especially relating to care fee and estate planning and the availability of funding from the Local Authority and NHS. I also advise Care Home owners and managers on their regulatory and legal responsibilities, and regularly provide talks and seminars to care providers and carers.
I regularly undertake estate administration work, and also deal with estates with a contentious element involving challenges to the validity of a will and also claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
I am a full member of Solicitors for the Elderly and the Court of Protection Practitioners Association, and am currently appointed as Care Navigator and Advisor for Age UK Trafford.
Outside of work I am a Director of Trafford Healthwatch, a Trustee of Trafford Carers Centre and a Trustee for Emmaus South Manchester (a charity addressing issues of homelessness and social exclusion) as well as being mum to two very active children.
