Experience: I qualified as a solicitor in 2015 having previously worked for large regional firms. I have specialised in commercial property for over 10 years before joining MLP in 2018
Bio: As well as working with landlords, tenants and landowners, I have worked with a wide range of lenders ranging from national high street banks to niche alternative lending institutions, helping them to effectively manage property finance deals and to deliver the very best experience to their clients. I have also worked closely with landowners who require advice in dealing with major utility providers and, having previously advised a National Utility provider, I have a detailed understanding of what both parties need when negotiating and implementing deeds and leases relating to utilities.
I regularly act on behalf of national high street banks and was involved dealing with a property portfolio of 10 commercial properties and securing charges for over £2 million against each property to secure the client’s interest. This particular matter required me to evaluate the legal risk by assessing all legal titles, planning and company documentation to enable the client to take a commercial view with regards lending. My experience acting for both national utility companies and individual landowners has provided me with a broad knowledge of the legalities of the utilities sector and the time constraints and deadlines that bind the industry. My experience in this niche area of law is as varied as securing rights to lay the electricity infrastructure to supply sporting venues used during the London Olympics in 2012, to securing a right to install a small electrical generation and cable to supply one property.
I have a straight forward approach to working, whether it be assistance to agree a lease, the sale or purchase of a commercial property, assessing and securing an interest in a property by way of a legal charge, or protecting or securing an interest in land by way of an easement, I always invest time to understand my clients’ needs and concerns so I can deliver a clear plan to achieve their commercial objectives.
