Edward Allbless

Edward is a senior transactional lawyer with over 35 years’ professional experience across contracts and commercial transactions, construction (both non-contentious and contentious), energy (oil and gas, power generation), international cross-border transactions, and mergers & acquisitions.

Edward began his career as a junior practising barrister in a London Barristers’ Chambers before moving into Big Law, where he spent many years with leading international firms including CMS Cameron McKenna LLP, Coudert Brothers, Pillsbury Winthrop LLP, and Dentons. He subsequently spent approximately 10 years in the global energy industry, serving first as Senior Counsel and then as General Counsel.

Throughout his career, Edward has built broad commercial experience not only in England but in a number of major developing markets, chiefly the Asia Pacific and Gulf regions. He has played a lead role in negotiating and structuring numerous large-scale, high-value transactions, often involving complex and innovative contractual structures and counterparties from both common law and civil law jurisdictions.

Edward is admitted to the Bar of England & Wales, and is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales and the Bar Council of England. He holds a BA (1980) and MA (1984) from the University of Oxford.
