Employment Law Training - MLP Law

Employment Law Training

Employing people is not easy. Sickness, misconduct, poor performance, grievances…
the list of potential employment challenges is endless.

Implementing effective processes to handle these situations is essential to avoid damaging your relationship with your employees or facing costly Employment Tribunal claims.

However, your processes are only as good as the people conducting them, which means training your managers to make fair decisions, avoid pitfalls and minimise risk is absolutely crucial.

Request a consultation with our expert Employment Law solicitors to discuss
how our bespoke Employment Law Training programme can benefit your business.

FAQs

  1. What is the benefit to my business of training my employees on employment law?

Having well trained and knowledgeable members of staff promotes good practice, which can improve morale and reduce the risk to your business of Employment Tribunal claims and costly litigation.

  2. Who should have training?

It is common to train the managers in your business, to ensure that they are equipped to react appropriately to any issues that arise.  It can, however, also be useful to hold training sessions for all employees on certain issues, like diversity and discrimination, as it can form part of your defence to certain Employment Tribunal claims, if you can demonstrate that you provided such training.

  3. What level of training is offered?

Often, the key in successfully managing employees is knowing when you need to get expert advice, without fear of looking foolish.  With our training program, we can equip your managers to confidently handle the basics and if things get tricky they can seek out advice, safe in the knowledge that there is no such thing as a stupid question!

  4. How often do I need to access training?

Sometimes, one course of training on a particular topic will be enough. In other areas – for instance, handling disciplinary hearings – refresher training could be particularly helpful, especially if you have managers that are less experienced or new to the business.
